What exactly is the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Whistler?
This is the pinnacle of international downhill mountain bike racing. As a key stop on the global UCI circuit, it brings the world’s elite pro riders to compete for the podium on Whistler Mountain’s most technical terrain.
What are the official 2026 event dates?
The competition is scheduled for September 25 – 27, 2026. We recommend arriving a day early to soak in the pre-race atmosphere.
Which trail is being used for the World Cup course?
The world’s best will face the 1199 trail, located in the Creekside Zone of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park.
What makes the 1199 course unique?
Designed specifically for elite-level racing, 1199 is a high-speed, technical descent. It covers 2.4 kilometres (1.49 miles) with a vertical drop of 489 metres (1,604 feet). Pro athletes are expected to complete the course in just over three minutes.

What is the best way to reach Whistler?
Whistler is located approximately two hours north of Vancouver via the Sea to Sky Highway (Hwy 99). For those not driving, frequent shuttle services and private transfers can be arranged.
Will the Whistler Mountain Bike Park stay open to the public? Yes. While the 1199 trail and specific areas of the Creekside Zone will be restricted for the race, the majority of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park will remain open for public riding.
Is this a family-appropriate event? Absolutely. Whistler is a premier family destination. While race-side viewing can be high-energy, there will be designated zones suitable for fans of all ages, along with the resort’s usual array of hiking, dining, and adventure activities.
