Fairmont Loves Love – 5 Uniquely Whistler Date Ideas

February is the month of love. Yes obviously it’s home to Valentine’s Day, but it’s so much more than one day of chocolates and flowers. It’s a month to connect and celebrate, so join us as #FairmontLovesFebruary celebrates everything from our love for our great outdoor playgrounds, to romance, best friends, and families.

First up we’re serving up some Whistler date ideas. So read on for local intel and inspiration for your next romantic Whistler getaway.

1. Date Like A Local

Whether it’s your first date or 50th anniversary, a day of skiing always makes for a perfect date. Not only do you get to spend the day doing a sport you love, but a day on the slopes also has the ideal mix of activity, time to chat on the chairlift, and the option of grabbing a drink after. As an added bonus, any pictures from your date day will be filled with spectacular mountain vistas – the kind of images you will treasure.

Follow up your day on the slopes with some bevvies and bites in the Mallard Lounge and perhaps a soak in a hot tub, and it has the makings of being your favourite dates ever.

2. Walk In A Winter Wonderland

There’s a reason holiday movies often have the main characters falling in love in snowy winter wonderlands – it’s insanely romantic. A late afternoon wander through the woods on snowshoes or cross-country skis is a fantastic way to experience Whistler’s natural stillness and spend quality time with the one you love.

A short walk from the hotel, you will find the Lost Lake Passiv House where they have the rentals and access passes you need to explore the Lost Lake trail network. When you’re all done, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Chalet is a short stroll away, where a classic European fondue dinner is waiting. The only thing cheesier than your meal may be your grins. Don’t forget to reserve in advance for an effortless evening.

3. Feel The Love

It’s hard to go wrong with a day of pampering and here at the hotel we have everything you need for a blissful date. The onsite Vida Spa has an extensive menu of treatments to enjoy with the one you love. We recommend booking a couples massage so you can both drift away in complete relaxed comfort.

Post massage, don your hotel robes and settle in for a day of poolside relaxation. While there, enjoy a fireside cocktail, savour a eucalyptus steam session, and soak your cares away in a piping hot tub – heaven.

Wrap up your day of pampering with a delectable dinner in the Wildflower restaurant. Renowned for its Pacific North West cuisine and extensive wine selection, it is the perfect way to close out a day of love and care.

4. Adrenaline Fueled

For adventurous couples, you can get your hearts pumping with some adrenaline-fueled adventure. Whistler is filled with endless choices, but one of our favourites is the Sproatt Steak Night by Snowmobile tour from Canadian Wilderness Adventures. You will explore the Callaghan backcountry at dusk by snowmobile as you venture to a remote rustic cabin for an intimate, gourmet 3-course steak dinner. It’s the perfect combination of modern adventure and classic rustic comfort.

5. Love Is Suite

When you’re wildly in love sometimes all you need for a fantastic date is the company of your favourite person. So take note from John and Yoko and retreat to your own private love nest suite for the weekend. Savour a sleep-in, sip bubbles by the fire, and if you get peckish In-Room Dining is always just a phone call away.
