Five Unforgettable Days in Whistler – Summer

Day One

Morning:  Sea to Sky Drive
Afternoon:  Hotel R&R
Evening: Village Strolling

Morning

As you arrive at the Vancouver International Airport, make your way to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler by taking the scenic Sea to Sky Highway. This picturesque drive takes you along the coast, past towering mountains and through charming coastal towns. Keep your camera available as you won’t want to miss the stunning views along the way, including the breathtaking Shannon Falls and the majestic Stawamus Chief. Upon arrival at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, check-in and take a moment to appreciate the grandeur of the hotel and the picturesque views of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.

Afternoon

After a long journey, it’s time to indulge in some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Take advantage of the hotel’s world-class Health Club amenities, including the pool, hot tub, and cedar sauna with a cocktail in hand while enjoying the stunning mountain views.

Evening

If you still have some energy left, take a leisurely stroll through Whistler Village. Walk through Fitzsimmons Bridge, and head to the Olympic Plaza, the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics medal ceremonies.

Day Two

Morning: Breakfast Buffet at The Wildflower
Afternoon: Peak 2 Peak Sightseeing & Hiking
Evening: Massage & Mallard Lounge Après

Morning

Fuel up for a day on the slopes with the Wildflower’s breakfast buffet, a feast of delicious breakfast options including made-to-order omelets, waffles, and pancakes.

Afternoon

There’s no shortage of beautiful hikes in Whistler. Pick up a map and explore the alpine hiking trails on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, easily accessible by gondola. Or connect with our Whistler Experience Guides, who can show you some of the best hiking spots to explore.

Can’t-miss stops include the inukshuk (a man-made stone landmark that’s used by the Inuit as a marker) at the top of the Peak Chair and the 360-degree views on the 2.7-mile PEAK 2 PEAK gondola (connecting the peaks of Whistler and Blackcomb, it’s the world’s longest and highest lift). Get the glass bottom gondola for the ultimate experience!

Evening

After a day of working hard on the hill, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is just steps away from the base of Blackcomb Mountain, a few laps in the Fairmont’s 60-foot outdoor heated pool will help release any tension built up on the slopes or go for a soak in the hotel’s four whirlpools (one indoors and three outdoors). May we suggest combining it with an après massage at Vida Spa. Located in the hotel, this luxurious spa offers a range of treatments to rejuvenate and refresh your body and mind and why not top it off with a sip of your favourite cocktail at the Mallard Lounge.

Day Three

Morning: Breakfast at The Clubhouse & Golf/ Tennis
Afternoon: Zipline Adventure
Evening: Vallea Lumina Nighttime Magic

Morning

Start your day with breakfast at The Clubhouse, offering picturesque views of the 18th hole and a casual patio setting for golfers and non-golfers alike.

For a slower-paced day of outdoor exercise, it’s hard to beat a round of golf on the award-winning golf course. Spend the day playing 18 holes surrounded by stunning mountain views and expansive greens. Non-golfer? No problem if tennis is your sport of choice, be sure to pack your racquet. In true resort fashion, we have two courts onsite for guest use.

Afternoon

Explore Whistler from new heights with an epic zipline adventure through BC’s stunning coastal mountains. Located just north of Whistler on Cougar Mountain, Superfly Ziplines is your one-stop-shop for the ultimate Whistler adventure day. Explore old-growth forests and soar high above the treetops for an unrivaled view of Whistler’s surrounding mountains. With the longest of the four zip lines spanning well over one kilometer in length and sitting 200 meters high, ‘thrilling’ may be a bit of an understatement.

Evening

For an enchanting artistic experience, don’t miss Vallea Lumina, a multimedia show set in the forest where a story is told using images, light, and sound projected onto the trees. It takes about an hour to stroll the one-kilometer path also at the base of Cougar Mountain, and the tale unravels as you go.

Day Four

Morning:  Sleep in
Afternoon:  Run & Farmers Market
Evening: Dinner at The Grill Room

Morning

After a busy few days exploring the mountains and surrounding areas, it’s time for some pampering and relaxation. Take the morning to sleep in and enjoy some in-room dining while taking in the stunning mountain views. Order your Fairmont Fit kit included in your Resort Experience Fee to do some stretching and yoga or head to our Yoga Room for a guided session. It’s the perfect way to start the day feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Afternoon

Whistler is the ultimate vacation destination for runners. With over 40km of paved valley trail and endless singletrack, you could run all day without seeing the same spot twice. Just steps from the front door of the hotel you’ll find the world-famous Lost Lake trail system. Enjoy a relatively flat loop around the shores of the lake or take to the trails to explore the undulating single track through the coastal rainforest.

Another popular route is a scenic out and back to Green Lake. Depending on where you decide to turn around, the route can vary between 6 km – 9 km. Other than the exceptional views, our favourite thing about this route is that it can be run entirely on paved valley trail. That means that other than a few road crossings you can completely zone and enjoy your run. Download the RunGO app and under the Fairmont Chateau Whistler profile you will find a selection of voice-guided tours of running trails in Whistler.

Insider Tip: On the way back from your run, swing by Whistler’s Farmers Market and grab a nourishing bite and fresh smoothie!

Evening

As the evening rolls around, indulge in a fine dining experience at The Grill Room. With warm, inviting service, the Grill Room is the ideal Whistler restaurant for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. Feast on exceptional locally grown regional cuisine paired with the finest BC wines at our AAA/CAA Four Diamond-rated destination for delectable chops, steak, and seafood.

Day Five

Morning: Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre & Portobello Picnic by Lost Lake
Afternoon: Biking
Evening: Dinner at The Wildflower

Morning

On your last day in Whistler, take a guided cultural outing with the Whistler Experience Guides at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. Learn about the history and culture of the First Nations people who have lived in this area for thousands of years. The center offers interactive exhibits and traditional storytelling sessions, providing a unique opportunity to connect with the local community. After the museum outing grab some Portobello Picnic to-go and head to Lost Lake to recharge before an afternoon adventure.

Afternoon

Whistler’s bike park is known all over the world for its incredible downhill trails, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Whistler’s enduro trails and valley trails are also fantastic options for anyone looking to experience the beauty of this mountain town. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, exploring Whistler on two wheels is an experience you won’t forget. So why not join our Whistler Experience Guides on one of our guided outings or rent a bike and explore on your own?

Evening

In the evening, head to The Wildflower showcasing locally inspired dishes and innovative classics in a family-friendly restaurant setting. Sip and savour from Whistler’s most extensive wine list, selections of regional craft beer, and signature cocktails to nourish yourself and wrap up your memorable summer getaway.
