Nourish Wellness Series – Confidence for the Mountains: Pack Smart, Go Far

Build your confidence for exploring the mountains with this practical, hands-on session designed to prepare you for real-world conditions. You’ll learn how to dress for changing environments using effective layering systems, choose and use essential shelter, and fuel your body with the right macro-nutrition for sustained energy on the trail.

Beyond the basics, this session dives into smart trip planning and communication strategies to help you stay safe and adaptable in the backcountry. You’ll also gain insight into the small but critical skills that can make or break an outing—from managing gear in wet conditions to keeping notes or plans intact in the rain.

A key highlight of the workshop is learning how to troubleshoot and improvise in the field. Through hands-on practice, participants will use simple tools like duct tape, zip ties, and webbing to repair common gear failures, including broken backpacks, snapped poles, and busted boot laces—turning potential setbacks into manageable moments (and great stories later).

Whether you’re new to mountain travel or looking to build resilience and self-reliance outdoors, this session equips you with the knowledge and confidence to head out prepared.
