Start Early

The old saying goes, the early bird gets the worm, and the fresh slopes. One of the best things you can do for a successful Whistler powder day is to wake up early. While no one likes to set up an alarm on vacation, starting early will give you the best fresh turns of the day – trust me they’re worth it.
Staying mere steps to the Blackcomb Gondola with us makes certainly saves time on your morning commute, and your skis will be handy to pick up on your way out the door. Remember to stop at Portobello enroute to the gondola to pick up a piping hot coffee and hearty pastries to savour while waiting for first upload.

Trust The Pros

Hiring an instructor for a powder day can be a game changer. Not only will they give you tips and tricks on how to master the art of floating on snow, but they also know the ideal slopes for the conditions and secret stashes of snow. Best of all? People in lessons have lift line priority so you can get maximum mileage on your day.

Fuel & Recover

Skiing powder can be thigh burner. You can set your day up for success by having a hearty dinner the night before. The Wildflower has an excellent selection of healthy and nutritious dishes that are perfect for adventure fueling.

Post ski it’s important to take care of your body. With a few small steps you can make sure your legs fresh and ready for the next day. For an active recovery we recommend joining an afternoon yoga class, they are included in your Resort Experience Fee. Of course, if complete relaxation is more your style, a soak in our Mountain View hot tubs or a massage at Vida Spa are an excellent way to rest and recover your mountain legs.
