Story Ideas for Fairmont Chateau Whistler
Mountain Golf Is Having a Moment, and Whistler’s Robert Trent Jones Jr. Course Is Leading the Ascent
As demand for immersive outdoor travel continues to rise, Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club is emerging as one of Canada’s premier alpine golf destinations. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the par-72 course weaves through old-growth forest, dramatic granite formations, and 400 feet of elevation change, delivering sweeping mountain views at every hole. Signature features include the iconic par-3 8th hole and Canada’s only Leadbetter Golf Academy. Audubon-certified and ranked amongst Canada’s top public courses, the club reflects a broader evolution in golf tourism, one driven by travelers seeking experiences that extend beyond the fairway, and that foster a deeper connection to nature and place. Open May to October.
Fairmont taps into the rise of “Après-Everything” with Fairmont Fridays
The Mallard Lounge is bringing back its signature Fairmont Fridays series this summer in response to the growing trend for social rituals. Running every Friday from 5 – 7 pm, the weekly après-inspired gathering features live music, craft cocktails and elevated tapas, transforming the post-adventure and post-work window into a shared ritual of relaxation and connection. From July, editions will expand to the Croquet Lawn with outdoor garden party inspired programming.
