Nourish Wellness Series – Forest Reset: A 3-Hour Wilderness Sauna Ritual & Deep Nervous System Reset

Forest Bathing is a guided, science-informed immersion in nature designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and restore your nervous system—held within the presence of an old-growth forest, where towering trees, rich moss, and deep-rooted stillness offer a naturally calming backdrop.

Set in the quiet backcountry of the Callaghan Valley, this 3-hour experience weaves together breathwork, wood-fired sauna, optional cold immersion, and intentional rest, all held at a gentle, supportive pace. This is not about endurance or pushing limits, but about tuning inward, softening, and allowing your body to recalibrate.

Facilitated by Amanda Jane Herries, each session blends approachable nervous system education with simple, grounding practices that are accessible for all experience levels.

Together, we move through:
• A gentle forest arrival and grounding ritual
• Breathwork to support relaxation and nervous system balance
• Guided sauna cycles (80–90°C) with spacious pacing and rest
• Optional cold immersion, offered as a choice-based, supported practice
• Intentional rest to encourage integration and deep relaxation
• A closing tea ritual by the fire, with time for quiet reflection

Research continues to show the benefits of sauna bathing for cardiovascular health and stress recovery, while gradual cold exposure can support resilience. Paired with breath and rest, these practices help cultivate a more adaptable, balanced nervous system.

Hosted at the beautiful Canadian Wilderness Adventures location in the Callaghan, with saunas thoughtfully built by their team.
