28 Ways to Enjoy Whistler’s Great Outdoors This February

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it certainly isn’t boring. With just 28 days of the most wonderfully wintery weather, there is a lot to do, and not a lot of time. If you’re planning a Whistler visit this February (and you definitely should!) a little planning goes a long way. Here are 28 of our favourite winter activities to embrace the outdoors and make the most of the season.

1. Go The Distance

Have you ever skied first chair to last run? Spend the entire day exploring the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb, and we truly mean the WHOLE DAY. From when the lifts start turning till they won’t let you up for more, you will be amazed how much you can see in one day.

2. Cocoa To Go

A hot cocoa or coffee from Portobello is the perfect accessory for a wander along the Village Stroll. And remember, it’s called a ‘stroll’ for a reason. Take your time, admire the sights and see what you discover along the way.

4. Slide With Style

Snow Tubing at the bubly Tube Park, it’s like tobogganing without all the hard parts. Enjoy effortless rides back to the top, and a cushy tube to sit on.

5. Feel The Burn

Challenge your thighs to burn their way through the whole distance from Whistler Peak to Whistler Creekside. This 11 km long, 1529m decent is a right of passage for Whistlerites.

6. Winter Wander

Strap on some snowshoes and wander through a snow-covered rainforest. Join one of our Whistler Experience Guide Tours and they will show you the way.

7. Ice Is Nice

Hike to the base of a frozen waterfall. Alexander Falls in the Callaghan Valley has a snowshoe trail that will take to you this amazing sight.

8. Sip Slope-Side

Après the right way with fireside bevvies on The Mallard patio.

10. Check The Wreck

Through the woods and over the river you can find an amazing sight – an old train wreck that has been covered with incredible street art. Getting there is easy, our Whistler Experience Guides can show you the way.

11. Skate Under The Stars

Tap into your inner Canuck and lace up your skates to glide under the stars. The Whistler Olympic Plaza rink is a magical place to skate with music, lights and rentals on site.

14. Watch A Mountain Sunset

A mountain sunset is truly a sight to see. Find a spot with a view of peaks and enjoy the show. We’re a big fan of the views from the Fairmont Gold Lounge balcony.

15. Take A Leap

Tap into your inner adrenaline adventurer with a jump over a glacial fed river with Whistler Bungee.

16. Embrace Your Inner Olympian

Get a taste of the Olympics with a bobsled adventure at the Whistler Sliding Centre.

17. Get Perspective

See Whistler in a whole new way from the window of a helicopter. Heli sightseeing tours soar over Whistler with views on iconic sights like the Black Tusk.

18. Swim Snowy Laps

Our lap pool is heated year-round. Slip in for a few laps this season.

19. Catch A Snowflake On Your Tongue

You’re never too old to enjoy the magic of the season. Take a moment to sit still and catch a flake on your tongue.

20. Rest & Recharge

Enjoy a restorative day in our health club. Cycle through our hot saunas, the eucalyptus steam room, and spend time relaxing fireside.

21. Feel The Need For Speed

Take a snowmobile tour to explore the deep snow and stellar views surrounding Whistler. Fair warning: it’s addictive.

In Whistler, you can zipline year-round. Join a tour to soar over snow-covered treetops and glacial-fed rivers.

24. Get Cozy Fireside

Our woodfire cauldron on the pool deck provides the perfect cozy place to snuggle up slopeside. We recommend a piping hot chocolate from the Cabana to sip and savour while you watch the flames under falling snow.

25. Leave Your Mark

Stop and enjoy the simple joy of making a snow angel.

26. Heat Things Up

When the temperature drops get toasty in one of our outdoor saunas. When you’re warmed to perfection hop in for some time in the pool.

You don’t need to ski to explore our mountain tops. Spend the day sightseeing with multiple gondola rides and a trip across the World Record-Breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.

28. Ski To Your Front Door

When we say we’re ski-in/ski-out, we mean it. Finish your day while still on the snow at the base. Our valet team is there to collect your skis so you can go straight to après at The Mallard.
