Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club Announces 2019 Opening Day

May 2, 2019

Whistler, BC – Having celebrating its silver anniversary in 2018, Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club will kick off its 26th golf season on May 11, 2019. The milestones continue with the Fairmont golf course recently recognized as the 2019 North American Golf Resort of the Year by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

“We are so proud to have been named the best golf resort in North America. Being that it is the first time a Canadian course has earned this honour makes it extra sweet” said Nick Droulis, Director of Golf at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. “The golf course is going to be in outstanding shape on opening day and we can’t wait to welcome guests for another season.”

An Audubon-certified course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Fairmont Chateau Whistler golf course opened in 1993. Whistler’s only true mountain golf experience, it drapes along the foothills and lower slopes of Blackcomb Mountain, traversing creeks, ponds, granite outcroppings and thick stands of ancient Douglas fir.  Along the way it thrills players with dramatic shot-making opportunities, spectacular mountain vistas and exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing. Additionally, Fairmont guests enjoy unlimited golf and other resort golf privileges, including access to the practice facility and “kids golf free.”

Early season rates start from $117 CAD until June 20. From June 21 to September 8, regular season rates start from $189 CAD. To make a tee time, please visit Fairmont.com or call the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Shop at (604) 938-2092. Information about available golf packages at Fairmont Chateau Whistler is available at Fairmont.com.
