Situated at the base of Blackcomb Mountain is Fairmont Chateau Whistler, a landmark year-round resort with design rooted in its magnificent alpine setting and the surrounding culture of Whistler. Drawing inspiration from the wonder and beauty of the Whistler Mountains, HBA San Francisco designers have newly refined the resort’s 360 guest Fairmont rooms, bringing together traditional rustic luxury with layered materiality, tonality and sophistication in a modern, mountain-minimal expression.

Familiar forms of the traditional ski chalet aesthetic are reimagined through a contemporary composition of natural materials, creating a connection to the locale that is cohesive with the storyline of the recently redesigned Fairmont Gold. Woven wallcoverings and drapery envelop each guest room with elegant dimension and cozy warmth in a soothing palette evocative of Whistler’s brilliant natural color, whether the deep blue skies and alpine lakes or evergreen forests. Wood, metal, and stone are carried through the furnishings and fixtures, complementing the tailored and opulent fabrics.

An organic, live-edge wood slab of natural Parota functions as the headboard of the bed and commands attention as its own art moment with raw, mesmerizing presence. Bespoke detailing of the metal joinery brings an element of elevated craftsmanship to establish a modern sense of alpine luxury. Floating sconces above nightstands provide ambient bedside lighting.

Locally sourced wood end blocks front the case goods and are balanced with polished, black surface tops. The seating area showcases a furniture mix of lounge chairs wrapped in sumptuous leather and hide or woven textile, a sofa upholstered in richly hued fabric, and a matte black table grounded by a stone base – an idyllic spot for guests to relax and take in the picturesque views after a day of skiing under the winter sun or hiking the scenic trails during summer.

These newly re-imagined spaces are ready to immerse you in the true Whistler experience. From getting perfectly rested pre-powder day, to making magical family memories, there is no better place make your Whistler home.
