Paddling Through the Nations Canoe Tour

July 20 - September 4

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating indefinitely

From now until September 4, 2022, SLCC hosts the carving of the Community Reconciliation Canoe as part of the SLCC Salish Summer Carving Series. Master Carver, Chief Ray Natraoro (Ses Siyam) of the Squamish Nation, leads SLCC Ambassadors as Apprentices, Brandon Hall (Squamish Nation) and Qawam Redmond Andrews (Lil’wat Nation). Guided by an SLCC Cultural Ambassador, guests are welcomed with a drum song, followed by storytelling of historic canoes and an interactive carving session, with a chance for guests to carve the canoe and bring their cedar shavings home. Tours are Wednesdays through Sundays at 11 AM and 3 PM.
